Fun Easter Activities for Phoenix Families

I am so excited for Easter this year, because Logan is older, more aware, and super active — which means we can really get into the festivities! Last year he was just about two-months-old, but now at 13-months he can go on his first Easter egg hunt and actually participate. I’ve found some great events (that are open to the public/haven’t reached capacity yet) for kids and families, plus we’ve got a delicious recipe for hot cross buns, which has been an Easter tradition in my family since I was a baby myself.

Easter Parade:

Ahwatukee 40th Annual Easter Parade & Spring Fling: Come out Saturday, March 26 for the Easter fun! The parade route runs along 48th street, between Warner & Elliot. Kick-off time is 10am. There is also a carnival/craft fair from 11am to 4pm at Ahwatukee Community Park (on Warner and 48th street).

Held at Ahwatukee Community Park: 4700 E Warner Road, Phoenix, AZ 85044 (on Warner and 48th)

Hot Cross Buns:

My mom always made hot cross buns for Easter, and this recipe sure does bring back memories. It’s also a fun one for little helpers to get involved with!

Egg Hunts:

Fairmont Scottsdale Princess BunnyPalooza: This Easter fun zone, with something for everyone in the family, takes place from 10am – 4pm on Sunday, March 27 and is complimentary with brunch. Lots going on here, with concerts by Grammy-nominated children’s artist Secret Agent 23 Skidoo, a Ferris wheel bounce slide, petting zoo and pony rides, rock climbing, arts and crafts, hourly Easter egg hunts, and appearances by Princess Lily and the Easter Bunny.

Easter Brunch runs from 9am until 3pm, with the last reservations being at 3pm. The menu is extensive with selections from the resort’s four restaurants. $95 for adults, $40 for kids 6-12, children 5 and under are free.

Held at Fairmont Scottsdale Princess: 7575 East Princess Drive, Scottsdale, Arizona 85255

Vertuccio Farms Easter Egg-sperience: Plenty to keep kids entertained, with a hay maze, tube slides, petting zoo, pictures with the Easter Bunny, a train ride, and egg hunt! There’s also a pancake breakfast. Egg hunts start at 11am, and you’ll need to bring your own baskets. Festivities run from 9am to 1pm on Saturday, March 26. General admission at gate is $11 per child. Adults and infants are free. (Bring cash, just in case.)

Held at Vertuccio Farms: 4011 S. Power Road, Mesa, AZ 85212

Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa Egg-stravaganza: The egg hunt will start at 9am sharp on Sunday, March 27, so arrive early to register your child, as hunts are done by age group. Following the Easter egg hunts, there’s a slew of other fun including, face painting, a bounce house, cookie decorating, egg dying, and of course, the Easter Bunny! $10 per child, cash only. Adults free.

Held on the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa’s Akimel Lawn: 5594 West Wild Horse Pass Blvd., Chandler, AZ 85226

40th Annual Dolly Sanchez Memorial Easter Egg Hunt: From the petting zoo, pony rides, and carnival games to crafts, face painting, and fun inflatables, there’s a ton to keep the whole family entertained. There are also egg hunts for the different age groups, starting at 1-years-old, plus there is also a hunt for individuals with disabilities. Event will be held at Peoria Centennial Plaza and takes place from 8am to Noon on Saturday, March 26. Last year the egg hunt for 1-year-olds started at 8:20am, so arrive early if you plan on taking part in that one. Admission and parking is free when you bring canned food, which will benefit St. Mary’s/Westside Food Bank Alliance. There is a small fee for certain activities, as well as food and drink.

Held at Peoria Centennial Plaza: 9875 N. 85th Avenue, Peoria, AZ 85345
